kcalA delightfully easy and creamy dip featuring a sweet cream cheese base, crunchy toffee bits, and served with crisp apple slices. Perfect for fall gatherings!
Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (6 ounce) package Heath English Toffee Bits (or similar)
4-5 medium apples (such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Gala), sliced
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Add the brown sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese, beating until well combined and fluffy.
- Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until no streaks remain and the mixture is light and airy.
- Stir in three-quarters of the toffee bits, reserving the rest for garnish.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Just before serving, sprinkle the remaining toffee bits over the top of the dip.
- Arrange sliced apples around the dip for serving.
Notes
- Apple Selection: For the best contrast in flavor and texture, I love using a mix of tart Granny Smith apples and sweet, crisp Honeycrisp or Gala apples. The tartness really cuts through the sweetness of the dip beautifully!
- Cream Cheese Softening Secret: Forget the microwave! My trick is to unwrap the cream cheese, place it on a small plate, and let it sit on the counter for at least an hour. This ensures it beats up super smooth without any lumps, giving you that perfect creamy base.
- Make-Ahead Magic: You can easily prepare this dip up to 24 hours in advance! Just hold off on adding the last quarter of the toffee bits until right before serving to keep them extra crunchy. Store covered in the fridge.
